Demo Xperts

Demo Xperts is a recording project designed by songwriters for songwriters.  The inaugural round of Demo Xperts, launched in 2022, was nominated for a BCCMA Industry Supporter award and produced 55 demos – some of which saw commercial release, and placements in film and television. Now entering its second phase of music production, Demo Xperts continues to provide opportunities to record original songs with some of Canada’s best session players in one of the lower mainland’s finest studios. With the support of Creative BC, we are able to offer cost-effective, quality recording services modelled after Nashville’s “live off the floor” style.

Demo Xperts is the result of a creative partnership between McKiller Music’s award-winning producer & songwriting team Tom & Lynda McKillip, Abbotsford’s Studio Downe Under and New Yank Yorkie/songwriter/guitar player Jay Buettner. We have also teamed up with the remote-recording platform Sessionwire to accommodate those clients who may not be able to attend their sessions in person. SueCo Music, a BC-based music publisher, is joining Demo Xperts as a partner to provide film and television placement opportunities for completed demos showing commercial promise.

Demo Xperts is committed to the amplification of underserved voices, and caters to songwriters at all levels, from emerging to established. Our goal is to support an area of BC’s musical ecosystem in need of a little love.
